Scouting For Food Drive Hits Record Donation Goal!

In Boy Scout News, Community News

The annual Scouting For Food drive run by the Piedmont Scouts and Venturers each year was done entirely online this year, with monetary donations going directly to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Given safety concerns, and upon request from the Food Bank, food donations were not collected this year. The community was instead invited to donate monetarily to the cause of food security in Alameda County. The Piedmont Scouts and entire Piedmont Community can be honored to know we have exceeded our goal of raising $7,500 for the Food Bank. With still weeks left in the food drive, we’ve exceeded that goal by thousands of dollars. This effort is equivalent to providing over 19,500 meals to county residents. We want to thank the Piedmont Community for your overwhelming support in this effort. For those families who would like to stay involved, you can go the Food Bank website for volunteer and other opportunities, at https://www.accfb.org/get-involved/. Donations to the Food Drive will continue to be accepted through December 6th by going to tinyurl.com/scoutingforfood2020. For future volunteer opportunities, and to stay involved with Piedmont Scouting activities, go to www.piedmontbsa.org.
