Is Your YPT Up To Date?

All adults accompanying a Scouting unit who are present at the activity for 72 total hours or more must be registered as leaders. Please contact your Troop leader for guidance on registration.

In the past few years, youth protection standards for two-deep leadership adjusted a bit. They now require two registered adults 21+, rather than one registered adult and another over 21. Here’s the relevant update, from https://www.scouting.org/health-andsafety/gss/gss01/

Two registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities, including meetings. There must be a registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over in every unit serving females. A registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over must be present for any activity involving female youth. Notwithstanding the minimum leader requirements, age-and program-appropriate supervision must always be provided. (Youth Protection and Barriers to Abuse FAQs). For any activities that involve both girls and boys, the troop needs to have four deep leadership and at least one female, as that is considered two units (boys and girls) instead of just one.
