Bridgeview Trail to Old Cañon

Bridgeview Trail to Old Cañon is a 2.8 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Oakland, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
The first half mile of the this trail takes you over a bridge, up a hill, and adjacent to the golf course. You’ll pass by a bunch of tree swings. Then you’ll arrive at a marker where you’ll turn right and go down the hill via a series of switchbacks. At the bottom of the hill, you can either go up the hill on the other side to Old Cañon Trail, which can be overgrown. or follow the creek for Dimond Bridgeview. The latter may not be option depending on the water level. This route follows Old Cañon as it continues on along the hillside up from the creek. You’ll go under the Leimert Blvd bridge and reach another intersection. From here, the route turns around and goes back, but if you want to keep hiking, continue straight to Benevides Ave. Going left takes you back down to the creek and Diamond Bridgeview Trail. Once you reach the creek, you want to cross it and go right. There’s a board and some rocks that allow you to get across. After that, the trail takes you right to Dimond Park.
