High School Career Day

March 28, 2019

Free

Every other year, Piedmont Scouting organizes and leads a Career Day where more than 50 professionals share their career paths and insights with Piedmont High School and Millennium students. This long-standing tradition, initiated over 40 years ago and organized by the Piedmont Council, BSA as part of its youth development mission, offers a unique opportunity for students to personally engage with professionals in many different fields and hear about their careers, experiences and passions.

Students attend two 90 minute small group seminars, choosing from an array of presentations representing careers in technology, renewable energy, law, finance, art, music, film, advertising & public relations, healthcare, and public service. Presenters share what a typical work day may entail and how career focus can shift over time.

The Piedmont Council coordinates the event with assistance from the Piedmont High School College and Career Center. Students receive a link to the Career Day speaker catalogue and information on how to register online from the high school.
