Eagle Service Project

Calling all Piedmonters! The Piedmont Council, Boy Scouts of America is very proud to announce a large convocation of Eagle Scouts this upcoming school year.

One of the conditions for earning this highest of ranks involves completing a service project for the benefit of a religious institution, school or the community at large. Such a project should challenge the Scout to demonstrate exemplary leadership, be creative and make a profound difference in the lives of others. Please see below for a fuller description of requirements.

In order to better serve our future Eagle Scouts, the Piedmont Council is soliciting project ideas from the community. Please feel free to suggest any worthy proposal by submitting your project details in the below form.

Eagle Scout Project Requirements

  • A Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project to any religious institution, school, community or non-profit organization.
  • As a demonstration of leadership, the Scout must plan the work, organize the personnel needed, manage resources including materials and funding and direct the project to its completion.
  • Routine labor, or a job or service normally rendered, should not be considered. An Eagle service project should be of significant magnitude (requiring about 100 hours) to be special and should represent the candidate’s best possible effort.
