Annual Report to the State Capitol

 In Community News, Council News

Piedmont Council Scouts had a wonderful time at the State Capitol visit, where we reported to legislators on our 2018 Impact Report. Four councils, including Piedmont, represented the BSA in California and our scouts did a great job letting legislators know what they care about and what they love about the scouting program. We met with many legislators, including Buffy Wicks, Speaker Rendon, and Ken Cooley!

Piedmont had delegates representing Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Sea Scouts. Delegates from other councils also had representation from Venturing and Exploring.

We had the honor of seeing democracy in action by viewing Senator Nancy Skinner propose a bill to the Public Safety Committee. And this day was very busy as a controversial use-of-force Bill was being debated in the legislature. Overall the scouts had the opportunity not only to report to our legislators but also to see democracy in action!
