Scouting For Food Drive
November 13, 2021 @ 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Annual Scouting for Food Drive on Nov. 13th!
For over 30 years Piedmont Scouts collect food for Alameda Food Bank
The Piedmont Scout Council has a long history of community service. For over 30 years, Scouts have collected non-perishable food for the Alameda Food Bank and this year on Saturday, November 13 they will continue the tradition. In previous years, the scouts collected more than 8000 pounds of food and thousands of dollars through the virtual drive.
This year’s Scouting for Food Drive is Saturday, November 13th. Cub Scouts will leave a reminder at every Piedmont home the week before. Residents are encouraged to leave donations of nutritious, non-perishable food in recycled boxes or bags outside their doors before 9:00 am on Saturday, November 13th.
No Glass Containers Please
Food will be collected by Piedmont Scouts and delivered to a collection point staffed by Piedmont Scouting’s coed Venturing programs, including the Piedmont Community Service Crew, and the Alameda Food Bank.
Alameda County has one of the highest incidences of hunger in the nation. One of every five residents of the County call upon the Alameda Food Bank for assistance, and two-thirds of those requiring assistance are children and the elderly.
Eliminate hunger and donate non-perishable foods, such as: canned fruits, vegetables and meats; canned soup; peanut butter; pasta and canned (not bottled) pasta sauce. Or even easier, participate in the Virtual Food drive by going to Scouting For Food 2021 Virtual Food Drive and turn $1 into $6! Help us reach our goal of $5,000!
